WHO: Hon. Robert Cluck, Mayor of Arlington

Stephen Jones, Dallas Cowboys Football Club COO

Randy Bernard, CEO Professional Bull Riders, Inc.

WHAT: Cowboys Stadium will be dedicated as the largest dirt arena in the world in preparation for the upcoming Saturday, February 20, 2010 Dickies Iron Cowboy Invitational. Arlington Mayor Cluck, Dallas Cowboys’ COO Stephen Jones along with several Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, and PBR CEO Randy Bernard will be on hand to shovel the final dirt into the arena. Champion Bull Rider JB Mauney will also be available for interviews.

On Feb. 20th, the PBR’s Dickies Iron Cowboy Invitational will mark the first dirt event to take place at Cowboys Stadium, turning the new home of the Dallas Cowboys Football Club into the largest dirt arena in the world.

WHEN: Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m.

WHERE: Cowboys Stadium – Park in Lot 5. Enter on the east side of the stadium between employee entrance D and E.

About the 2010 Dickies Iron Cowboy Invitational:
Tickets are priced from $20 to $150 (standard ticket fees apply). Fans will enjoy more than two hours of music including a special concert by country music star Gary Allen, pyrotechnics, and an up close and personal view of The Toughest Sport on Earth! Tickets are available by phone at 800-745-3000, online at www.ticketmaster.com, or in person at the Cowboys Stadium Box Office.
In a one-of-a-kind format created exclusively for Cowboys Stadium, the 2010 Dickies Iron Cowboy Invitational will be the first true, head-to-head competition in the history of the PBR. A total of twenty-four riders will qualify to ride at Cowboys Stadium – eight riders will qualify based off of the 2009 World Finals standings after Las Vegas and will receive a bye in the first round; fourteen additional riders will qualify based off of the 2009 BFTS standings as of January 31; and the PBR Competition Board will award exemptions to two riders. The riders will be paired up and then will each take on comparable bulls, with the winner moving on to the next level. During the semi-final and final rounds, riders will compete on the same bull, the cowboy with the highest score moving on. The winning rider will be determined by who obtains the highest score. If both riders buck off, the rider who stayed on the longest will move on. In the end, the rider who rides their fourth and final bull for the highest total points will be declared the winner and will take home the largest payout for a one-day event in the history of the PBR.
