
PUEBLO, Colo. (May 16, 2009) - The top 40 bull riders invaded the home of the Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) for the 2009 Ford F-150 Invitational presented by Copenhagen Bull Riding. At stop #22 on the prestigious Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS), Cody Campbell (Summerville, Ore.) took home the round one win after riding the bull, More Bucks, owned by Jaynes Gang/Peterson/Mansour/Langhans/Nelson/Teague, for 90.25 points. Campbell pocketed $2,730 for his efforts.
Brazilian superstar Robson Palermo (Rio Branco, Acre, Brazil) took second place after scoring 90 points on Lufkin Ranch & Rodeo’s bull, Over the Edge. Taking third place was current no. 1 bull rider in the world Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo.) who scored 89.25 points on the bull, Neon Ghost of Jeff Robinson Bucking Bulls/Bryan Smith while Colorado cowboy Josh Koschel (Greeley, Colo.) took fourth after riding “Mo” Betta Bull Company’s bull, Hit Man, for 87.5 points. Rounding out fifth place was rookie Cody Nance (Paris, Tenn.) who received a score of 87.25 points on his re-ride bull, Wrangler Big Rig, owned by Jeff Robinson/Bar None/Skyhawk Rugs.
Due to his round two win at last weekend’s Genuity Invitational, Valdiron de Oliveira (Aparecida de Goiania, GO, Brazil) was eligible to compete for the $5,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car “Ride with the Best” bonus during round one of the Ford F-150 Invitational. Oliveira did not make the eight second whistle after taking on the bull, Rowdy LJ; therefore, stock contractors, Circle T Ranch & Rodeo, took home the $5,000 bonus.
The Ford F-150 Invitational presented by Copenhagen Bull Riding continues tomorrow as the top 40 bull riders in the world compete to see who will take home the coveted event title.
