
PUEBLO, Colo. (September 22, 2008) - The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) is proud to return to the Bay Area to rock the Oracle Arena for the 2008 Out of the Chute Invitational. The top cowboys continue to battle for the number one spot in the world standings and the $1 million dollar bonus. The 2008 Out of the Chute Invitational is the 29th stop on the elite Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS). Two action-packed performances will take place on Friday, September 26 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, September 27 at 6 p.m. <!--[endif]-->
The Out of the Chute Invitational will feature the best riders in the world including, 2002 World Champion Ednei Caminhas (Presidente Alves, SP, Brazil) 2004 PBR World Champion Mike Lee (Decatur, Texas), 2002 Oakland Invitational champion Luke Snyder (Raymore, MO) and fan favorite and “Australian Sensation” Brendon Clark (Morpeth, Australia).
A ticket to the 2008 Out of the Chute Invitational guarantees two hours of hard core bull riding action with the top 45 bull riders in the world competing against the top bulls in the nation. The format of the Out of the Chute Invitational consists of three rounds of competition. The first two rounds features all 45 riders randomly matched against the sport’s rankest bulls. The top 15 riders based upon their scores after two rounds qualify for the Built Ford Tough Championship Round, the decisive round of action, following intermission of round two on Saturday. The rider with the highest cumulative score on three bulls will earn the coveted Out of the Chute Invitational event title.
Tickets for the Out of the Chute Invitational range from $10 and can be upgraded to $30, $50, and $100. Children tickets start at just $10. The Out of the Chute Invitational event will be one of the featured stops on the Bull Team Challenge Tour where twenty-two teams are competing for their share of the $1.1 million total tour purse and the $250,000 prize for the top team of 2008. In stop fifteen of seventeen, the Bull Team Challenge will present $20,000 to the team whose total score is the highest for the weekend and $10,000 to the second-highest scoring team.
