Former World Champ takes Anaheim Round 2

Tecate Light Invitational Anaheim, CA

Anaheim, Calif. (January 23, 2010) - Guilherme Marchi (Leme, SP, Brazil) redeemed himself tonight after he was bucked off in Round 1 of the Tecate Light Invitational in Anaheim, Calif. Marchi even did a little dance for the crowd after making the buzzer on Slinger’s Back (D&H Cattle Company) for 88 points and adding $2,730 to his bank account.

Coming in a close second for the round was LJ Jenkins (Texico, N.M.). After a re-ride option which he took, Jenkins stayed on Don Kish Bucking Bull’s Wise One Willy, for 86.50 points and $1950 securing second place in the round. Tying for third and fourth place were Canadian cowboy Aaron Roy (Asquith, SK) and Josh Koschel (Greely, Colo.). Roy managed to stay on Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve’s Fully Loaded, for 86.25 points. This ride put him into first place in the overall event standings after the round. Koschel matched Roy with 86.25 points on Shredder from Hyland Cattle Company.

Rounding out the top five was another tie between Valdiron de Oliveira (Aparecida de Goiania, GO, Brazil) and fellow Brazilian Renato Nunes (Buritama, SP, Brazil). Oliveira rode Scrappy (D&H Cattle Company) for 86 points while Nunes stayed on Bad Yeller (D&H Cattle Company) for 86 points.

INJURY REPORT:
Chris Shivers is out for the rest of the weekend due to last night’s injury - a hip pointer (bruised hip). He is probable for next weekend’s event.

Brian Canter suffered a concussion after a wreck on Pick a Spot (Champion Bucking Bulls). He is questionable for Round 3 tomorrow.
