
NEW YORK, N.Y. (September 28, 2009) - The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) whirlwind schedule brings the worldâs best bull riders and the fiercest bovine athletes to Portland, Ore., for two performances â October 2-3 â for the GoDaddy.com Invitational presented by Cooper Tires, stop no. 29 on the PBRâs prestigious Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS). With only three regular season stops left on the tour, the top 40 riders in the world are all competing for not only the coveted Portland event title, but for their chance to qualify for the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas where a $1,000,000 bonus will be awarded to the 2009 PBR World Champion.
During two nights of heart-pounding, bone-crushing action, fans can look forward to seeing a star-studded line-up of athletes including reigning Portland champ and 2008 PBR World Champion Guilherme Marchi (Leme, SP, Brazil); hometown bull rider and fan favorite Ross Coleman (Molalla, Ore.); Oregon cowboys Cody Campbell (Summerville, Ore.) and Cody Ford (Stanfield, Ore.); two-time PBR World Champion Chris Shivers (Jonesville, La.); 2008 PBR World Finals event champion Robson Palermo (Rio Branco, Acre, Brazil); current world no. 1 bull rider Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo.); and PBR superstars J.B. Mauney (Mooresville, N.C.), Sean Willingham (Summerville, Ga.), and âTitanium Toughâ Luke Snyder (Raymore, Mo.) who will compete in his 263rd consecutive BFTS event.
For as little as $10, fans will experience over two hours of the worldâs best bull riding athletes â cowboys and bulls. Performances kick off at 8 p.m. on Friday and 6 p.m. on Saturday where ticket holders will experience edge-of-your-seat thrills and spills, rock & roll music, pyrotechnics, and the best bull riding action in the world. The GoDaddy.com Invitational will consist of three rounds of competition with the first two rounds featuring the top 40 bull riders randomly matched against the PBRâs toughest bulls. The scores from the two rides will be combined and the riders with the top 15 scores will advance to the GoDaddy.com Championship Draft where they will pick which bull they will attempt during the Built Ford Tough Championship Round which will be held immediately after intermission on Saturday. In the end, the cowboy with the highest total score on three bulls will be declared the winner!
The PBR is the premiere bull riding organization in the world, boasting contestants from the United States, Mexico, Australia, Brazil, and Canada.
