NEW YORK, N.Y. (September 24, 2009) - Television producer Joe Loverro intends for the new half-hour “PBR Now” series, which begins airing today on RFD-TV, “to become the show for the PBR.”

The first episode features a satellite interview with J.B. Mauney, an in-studio interview with PBR CEO Randy Bernard, and highlights from each round of last weekend’s event in Springfield, Mo., as well as news and a preview of this weekend’s event in Ontario, Calif.

Mauney talked about his pursuit of the championship along with his competition with Kody Lostroh, as well as the highs and lows of his season.

“(The highlights) are definitely much more in depth than we’re able to get in the Versus show,” said Loverro, who described the program as the PBR’s version of ESPN’s “Baseball Tonight” and “NFL Live.”

“This first show looks great and it gives people a good sense of where we’re going with it. … It’s a work in progress.”

The first episode was hosted by Justin McKee and two-time World Champion Justin McBride. J.W. Hart will team with McKee for the second episode as both he and McBride take turns co-hosting.

Loverro said that in coming weeks they are developing a segment that would allow fans to interact directly with the program through Skype, an online video conferencing Web site. The technology would allow PBR fans to appear on the show from their home and ask questions of the hosts as well as in-studio guests.

PBR Now airs a new episode on Thursdays at noon and 10 p.m. Eastern.
