TACOMA, Wash. (March 21, 2009) - The world’s best bull riders headed to the Great Northwest to Tacoma, Wash., for the Tacoma Invitational, stop #15 on the elite Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) tour. At the end of round one, two cowboys walked out of the Tacoma Dome with the round victory, each scoring 87.75 points. Last weekend’s BFTS event winner Ryan McConnel (Colgate, Okla.) took on the bull, Mr. Callville, owned by Red Knection K Bulls, while young Aussie Pete Farley (Kempsey, AUS) rode Don Kish Bucking Bulls’ Cool Cash. FINAL CHAMPIONSHIP SET AFTER RodeoHouston™ BP SUPER SERIES WILD[Mar. 21, 2009] Friday night’s Wild Card Round set the final contestants for the RodeoHouston BP Super Series Championship, where only one from each event will be named Champion and receive $50,000.
After an upsetting no-time in Semifinal 1, Hunter Herrin had a run of 8.8 seconds in the Wild Card; putting him in first place for the night and earning him a spot in the Tie-Down Roping Championship. “My greatest influence is definitely my step-dad, Bob Nunn,” he said. “He has taught me everything, from life in general to roping.” Also advancing to the Championship is fellow roper Ryan Jarrett, with a 9.7-second run for the night. Young Oklahoman Takes First Professional Bull Riders BFTS Win of His Career!![Mar. 15, 2009] Ryan McConnel rode all three of his bulls, including Say I Won’t Gunner, to take home the Pike Electric Invitational event title.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (March 15, 2009) - The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) set Alabama on fire as the top 40 bull riders in the world invaded Birmingham’s BJCC Arena on March 14-15. The world’s best riders took on the toughest bulls that the PBR had to offer for the Pike Electric Invitational, stop #14 on the PBR’s elite Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) tour. In the end, young Oklahoman Ryan McConnel (Colgate, Okla.) took home the coveted event title after riding all three of his bulls for 265.5 points. Professional Bull Riders Entertainer Suffers Mild Heart Attack[Mar. 11, 2009] PUEBLO, Colo. (March 11, 2009) - Flint Rasmussen, PBR’s world-class entertainer, suffered a mild heart attack at his home in Choteau, Mont., this morning. He was airlifted to Great Falls, Mont. Professional Bull Riders Makes 2nd Cut of the 2009 Built Ford Tough Series Season[Feb. 26, 2009] PUEBLO, Colo. (February 24, 2009) - At the beginning of the 2009 Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) season, the PBR’s Rules & Regulations Committee made the decision that only the top forty bull riders in the world will now compete on the prestigious tour.
