
SAN ANTONIO (August 1, 2010) - 2009 Rookie of the Year Cody Nance (Paris, Tenn.) took home the event win in San Antonio, after the only ride in the Built Ford Tough Championship Round at the U.S. Air Force Invitational. Nance was the single rider to cover his bull in the final round, staying on Perfect Poison (Boyd/Floyd Bull Company) for 89.5 points. This is Nance’s first event win of the 2010 season, adding $33,924 to his bank account and bumping him up to 30th in the world standings.
Following Nance in a close second place for the event was Brazilian Paulo Lima (Bezerros, PE, Brazil). Lima, who shared seventh and eighth place in the second round with Renato Nunes (Buritama, SP, Brazil), rode Ground Zero (Ace of Spades/Beach City/Moody Rice/Lone Star/Shippy) in that round, while Nunes stayed on Pistolero (Boyd/Floyd Bull Company), both receiving 86.5 points.
Third place overall went to fan favorite Wiley Petersen (Fort Hall, Idaho). Petersen won Round 2 with 89.5 points on Top Notch (Martinez Bucking Bulls, LLC). Coming in fourth in San Antonio was Dustin Elliott (North Platte, N.D.) after he stayed on Mellow Yellow (Duncan & Evans Bucking Bulls) in Round 2, but he was bucked off of Buffalo Hump in the Championship Round. Rounding out the top five was Valdiron de Oliveira (Aparecida de Goiania, GO, Brazil), who rode Black Smoke (Page & Teague Bucking Bulls) in the second round for 87.25 points.
Nunes continues to hold his lead in the Built Ford Tough Series standings with 8,828.75 points, closely followed by Austin Meier (Kinta, Okla.) with 7,121.75 points. Valdiron de Oliveira (Aparecida de Goiania, GO, Brazil) moved up one spot in the standings and is now ranked third in the world with 6,705.25 points, while Travis Briscoe (Edgewood, N.M.) trails him in fourth place at 6,571 points. Guilherme Marchi (Leme, Sao Paulo, Brazil) closes out the Top 5 with 6,140.5 points.

INJURY REPORT:
L.J. Jenkins dislocated his left wrist while at a Touring Pro event this past week Cheyenne, Wyo. He will have surgery on it this Tuesday and will be out of competition in Nashville. He is questionable to ride in Memphis, Tenn.
Robson Palermo sprained his right wrist at the Touring Pro in event in Weatherford, Texas, last week. He is questionable for Nashville.
Ross Coleman suffered a new injury to his right index finger, which is why he did not ride the second day in San Antonio. He is questionable for Nashville.
