Recuperating in a Montana hospital
PUEBLO, Colo. (March 11, 2009) - Flint Rasmussen, PBR’s world-class entertainer, suffered a mild heart attack at his home in Choteau, Mont., this morning. He was airlifted to Great Falls, Mont. Rasmussen had blockage in two main arteries, but there was no permanent damage to the heart.
Rasmussen is resting comfortably in the Intensive Care Unit and although tired from the ordeal, maintains his unique sense of humor with hospital staff and family. “Right now, my focus is on my health and my family,” Rasmussen said from the hospital. “I plan to get back to work as soon as possible.”
A fixture on the PBR’s Built Ford Tough Series for nine years, Rasmussen lives with his wife, Katie, and two daughters, Shelby Rae and Paige. As the official entertainer of the PBR, he keeps the crowd alive during lulls in the action or commercial breaks. He sings, dances, performs skits, and even goes into the audience at each performance to shake “it” with his adoring public.
“First and foremost, we wish Flint a speedy recovery,” said Randy Bernard, Chief Executive Officer of the PBR. “His health and well-being is our number one concern right now. He is truly a staple of the PBR and we will miss him until he gets back on his feet, but in no way do we want him to hurry this. This is a very serious situation and we want Flint to listen to his doctors and follow their instructions and advice.”
