PUEBLO, Colo. (July 1, 2008) - As a result of his win at the PBR Montreal Rocky Cup presented by Dickies on June 28, Beau Hill (West Glacier, Mont.) qualified to compete at the Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS) Montana Tractors Invitational on July 25-26, 2008 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Hill covered the bull, Texas Toast (Sonny Williams), and went into the Montreal Championship Round in fifth place. He took on American Idol owned by Sonny Williams and was awarded 91 points for a first place overall finish and added $6,040 into his wallet.
“I had a couple great bulls (in Montreal) that gave me a chance to qualify for Edmonton. I hope to take advantage of this opportunity and work my way back onto the BFTS tour,” Hill said. Hill was dropped from the Built Ford Tough Series during the first cut of the 2008 season. He has since been competing at lower level and international events to earn his way back on the elite BFTS tour.
Along with the top 45 riders, the top-ranked Canadian rider from the PBR Canada standings and the event winner from the PBR Canada Edmonton Rocky Cup presented by Dickies on July 24 will be eligible to compete at Rexall Place on July 25-26 during the Montana Tractors Invitational, the 24th stop of the elite BFTS tour.
Tickets for the Edmonton event start at $15 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster at ticketmaster.ca or by calling 780-451-8000.
