In Memory of Thad Ita

Rodeo judge, Thad Ita, his wife, Tricia, and son, Jacob, were killed as the result of a head on car. The accident occurred approximately 1 PM, Saturday, May 30th on Route 2, 2 miles east of Broken Bow, NE. Tricia and Jacob were pronounced dead at the scene. Thad and his daughter, Martina, were life flighted to Good Samaritain Hospital, Kearney, NE. Thad passed away at approximately 2 AM Sunday morning. Martina, 10, was transfered to Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, NE.

According to authorities the other driver admitted to reaching for something and when he looked back he was in the wrong lane. Skid marks indicated Jacob had tried to stop and at the last moment pulled into the other lane at exactly the same time the other driver relized his error and also swerved. The two cars collided head on despite Jacobs efforts to avoid the crash. His father was sitting in the passengers seat, his mother was directly behind him with his little sister in the middle of the back seat. The baby was in the left side back seat where there was very little damage to the car.

Thad, 43, has been a regular on the Bullriders Of America circuit and a member of the Extreme Bullriding Tour production crew since it began, Ticia, 39, operated the State Farm Insurance office in Broken Bow. Thad is survived by three daughters A. J. who is a sophomore in high school, Martina, who is 10, and Jayelyn, his daughter with Tricia who is 19 months old.
