CARSON DAVIS

The voice of southern bull riding was silenced tonight (February 11, 2008). Prayer chains for Carson Davis stretched from North Carolina to the California Coast within minutes of hearing the news. Carson was known and loved by everyone from rodeo legends and PBR greats to back yard county fair committees and once a year bull riders wearing floppy hats. Since 1988 Carson was undeniably the voice of southern bull riding. During the 2008 season Carson announced over 120 events. Arenas and announcer stands up and down the east coast will forever echo with his Southern drawl. Carson was known for his country humor, his gentle concern for those in need, and for his zest of life. Carson lived life to the fullest, enjoying each and everyday knowing that tomorrow is never promised. Carson was the father and best friend of bull riding legend Jerome Davis. He also played a major role in the careers of PBR stand out Brian Canter and JB Mauney hauling them and many other bull riders to countless junior rodeos and SEBRA events. Carson held announcer awards from almost every bull riding association in the region. He announced weekly North Carolina bull ridings at the East of Mesquite event in King, Stan Stegalls Arena in Concord, and weekly SEBRA events at Carousel Farms in Raleigh, Boyce Knoxs Rafter K Arena and Brad Nelms Anchor bull company event in Abingdon, Virginia. Carson was awarded the SEBRA announcer of the year award for the second time during the SEBRA Championship Finals Saturday. He also donated his time as Master of Ceremony for the Pretty in Pink Breast Cancer benefit Thursday. Carson leaves behind a loving family and countless friends. His legacy will live on in our memory.. Carson is announcing for the Father tonight. Beyond the sunset in the presence of the Lord a microphone resonates.. WOW!! WOW!!! What a ride!!!.. Man!!!.. And what a ride it was.. With a tear in our eye and a crack in our voice we can smile.. What a ride it was..
