PAGOSA SPRINGS, CO – Parelli™ Natural Horsemanship – the world leader in natural horsemanship – announced today the launch of an all-new television series to air this summer on RFD-TV. The reality-based show The Horseman’s Apprentice follows eight students as they study under the founder of natural horsemanship and one of the most famous horse trainers of today, Pat Parelli. “The Horseman’s Apprentice” launches July 7 and airs every Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. Eastern, 11:00 a.m. Central, and 10:00 p.m. Eastern/9:00 p.m. Central. Episodes will also be available on a delay at www.parelli.com.

Every summer students from around the world come to Colorado to train at the Parelli Campus and while some hope to become certified Parelli instructors, all of them want to learn from the best. Following students from all walks of life including former elementary school teachers, Texas ranch hands, and students from Australia, UK and Europe, “The Horseman’s Apprentice” series will give audiences worldwide an unprecedented glimpse into what it’s like to live and work at a state-of-the-art horse training facility in Colorado.

“RFD-TV is such an important partner as we communicate the Parelli method and teach natural horsemanship techniques, so we’re honored they’ve picked up this new show in a format never before seen on the network,” said Neil Pye, chief of media for Parelli. “This new reality series allows us the opportunity to provide viewers with more than just an educational program; filming the student-teacher dynamic in real-life situations results in a program that is extremely entertaining, exciting and inspiring.”

Bringing new life and excitement to “Rural America’s Most Important Network,” Parelli Natural Horsemanship will provide entertainment from rocky trail rides and cattle drives to open mic nights at the local brewery and trips to the hot springs. Viewers will watch the apprentices hitch up a team of Belgian draft horses, train fresh colts, and take the show on the road. From humble tasks like scooping manure to rewarding feats like communicating with a skittish horse in front of an expectant audience, the apprentices challenge themselves in every way.

Winning the Cablefax Best Educational Series Award in 2009, “Parelli Natural Horsemanship” is one of the top equine programs on RFD-TV, a national American cable network reaching 40 million homes and 11.2 million adult viewers weekly. “The Horseman’s Apprentice” will be shot in and around Pagosa Springs and in the San Juan National Forest.
