Mike Porter of the Professional Bucking Bull Association (PBBA) and Chan Canter with the Southern Extreme Bull Riding Association (SEBRA) announce the creation of the National Bull Rider Series (NBR Series).
This collaboration between SEBRA and the PBBA was created for all bull riders who enter PBBA competitions whether sanctioned by SEBRA or any another bull riding association.
The PBBA Finals, held in January, 2009 in Clemson, SC, will host up to the top forty PBBA bulls of 2008 against the top bull riders from the NBR Series. The Series Finals will have over $5,000 added money that; for SEBRA card holders will count towards points for the SEBRA Finals in February in Raleigh, NC. In addition to the $5,000 added, the NBR Series Finals will award a custom trophy saddle to the winner, a buckle and custom jackets to all NBR Series Finals qualifiers.
The PBBA sanctions open bucking bull competitions for bulls of any age. The PBBA Finals will include $20,000 added money and buckles for the top PBBA bulls of 2008 Finals.
The Southern Extreme Bull Riding Association was established in 1994 in Archdale, North Carolina. According to HnH News magazine it is one of the oldest continuously operated bull riding associations in existence. SEBRA, although little known outside of the bull riding world; is a solid organization. Its members have held championship titles at every level of rodeo from professional to high school.
