Frontier Rodeo Company 1st Annual Production Sale Grosses Close to Half-Million Dollars[Mar. 29, 2008] With the growing popularity of the sport of professional bull riding it is no surprise that the value of the bull athletes has also grown. Pedigrees in the bucking bull industry have become as important as those of the equine industry. This point was emphasized on March 29th when 194 lots all from the breeding program of the Frontier Rodeo Company grossed $498,275.

2007 PBBA Bulls Purchased by PBR Stock Contractor[Mar. 9, 2008] Trae Shelton and Terry Johnson of J Bar S Bucking Bulls of Carrollton, GA (www.jbarsbuckingbullco.com) competed in several 2007 PBBA open bull competitions. Two bulls that qualified for the PBBA Finals and generated a lot of talk in the back pens were their bulls L22 Wildcat Black Betty and 3 Ninja Turtle.

Pete Baker/Homestead Genetics Purchases Top 2007 PBBA Bull[Feb. 29, 2008] Coley Treadway's bull #231 Southern Gangster was the Professional Bucking Bull Association's (PBBA) number two bull for all of 2007. When Pete and Gene Baker of Homestead Genetics were looking for some undiscovered bulls that consistently scored high and had spent some time on the road they went to the PBBA website, www.PBBAnow.com, and Southern Gangster's name appeared at the top of the standings. Pete called Coley and they struck a deal.
Stock breeder doubts need for test, looks for lean build[Feb. 17, 2008] Professional Bull Riders officials say they don't know if anyone is doping bulls to enhance their performance, but persistent rumors about steroids being injected into bucking bulls led them to institute the drug screening. H.D. Page of Dickson says he doesn't care if PBR vets test his bucking bulls for steroids, as long as they don't hurt one.
