ABBI's American Heritage Events Pay Out $500,0000 in Ardmore, Okla.[Jun. 3, 2009] PUEBLO, CO - American Bucking Bull Inc. (ABBI) paid out over a half-million dollars in prize money over the weekend. Over 250 2 and 3-year-old ABBI registered bulls competed over the two days of events in Ardmore, Okla. Diamond S Bucking Bull Sale and ABBI Futurity May 2nd[May 2, 2009] If the Diamond S Social was a sign of things to come this morning, WOW! Get ready for SOMETHING SPECIAL.
We served 180 people a BBQ plate and man did Roddy Qualls and his wife do an excellent job with the food. The new team competition for customers and fans was a big hit. There is 17 teams of four bulls and the entry fees paid on these teams exceeded $17,000. This concept allows both owners and non-owners of the bulls to own a team for a day and become a winner. Four teams will win money and the top team will win approx $6,000 and the 4th place team will win around $2,000. It’s simple their four bulls will buck at the ABBI sanctioned event this afternoon at 4PM. You add your 4 bulls scores together and hope it is higher than the other teams total scores. Young Oklahoman Takes First Professional Bull Riders BFTS Win of His Career!![Mar. 15, 2009] Ryan McConnel rode all three of his bulls, including Say I Won’t Gunner, to take home the Pike Electric Invitational event title.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (March 15, 2009) - The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) set Alabama on fire as the top 40 bull riders in the world invaded Birmingham’s BJCC Arena on March 14-15. The world’s best riders took on the toughest bulls that the PBR had to offer for the Pike Electric Invitational, stop #14 on the PBR’s elite Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) tour. In the end, young Oklahoman Ryan McConnel (Colgate, Okla.) took home the coveted event title after riding all three of his bulls for 265.5 points. He collected a check for $30,648 and added valuable points to his 2009 BFTS standings, moving him into the top ten in the world. By Briana Stensrud, PBR
Under the Hat: Lane Frost and Red Rock[Mar. 11, 2009] ...I watched the David Wittkower film, “Challenge of Champions,” a documentary on Frost, the 1987 world bull riding champion, and Red Rock, regarded as one of the rankest — if not the best — bulls in the PRCA. Red Rock went unridden his entire ProRodeo career to the tune of 311 unsuccessful rides.
