Bull-riding tour muscles its way into Albany[Jan. 27, 2008] "There's a mutual respect between the bulls and the riders," said McBride, a 28-year-old Oklahoma native. "They're great athletes. They're so big, yet they can jump and move so fast. You respect them even when they slam you on the ground. Bulls aren't necessarily mean. They just don't want you on their back. Some will just walk away when they get you off. They don't have a mean bone in their body.
Zorro Named CBR Bucking Bull of the Year[Jan. 26, 2008] Championship Bull Riding, Inc., announces that Zorro of the Lufkin Ranch and Rodeo Company is the 2007 CBR Bucking Bull of the Year, as voted by the CBR World Championship contestants. The announcement was made during Thursday night's CBR Charity Auction. Chuck Griffith is the owner of Lufkin Ranch and Rodeo Company, of Lufkin, Texas, and is also on the board of directors for the CBR.
CBR's Charity Auction Benefitting NBBA Youth A Big Success[Jan. 25, 2008] Over $250,000 total dollars were raised at the Championship Bull Riding, Inc., Charity Auction benefitting the National Bucking Bull Association Youth Scholarship Fund on Thursday night. The event earned $26,000 for the scholarship fund as bull riders, stock contractors, fans, and all involved in the CBR gathered in the VIP room overlooking the South Point Equestrian Center arena.
Professional Bucking Bull Association (PBBA) Clemson, SC[Jan. 20, 2008] Clemson’s Garrison Arena hosted the 2007 PBBA National Finals. Twenty seven of the top 2007 PBBA bulls competed for High Point Bull of the Year and for Finals Champion. Wally Barnette’s bull 133 Meltdown walked away with the 2007 High Point bull of 2007. Barnette was awarded a custom semen tank donated by Russ Princ with GenEX Alabama and a custom trophy buckle from Bob Berg
FDA Says Clones Are Safe For Food[Jan. 15, 2008] A long-awaited final report from the Food and Drug Administration concludes that foods from healthy cloned animals and their offspring are as safe as those from ordinary animals, effectively removing the last U.S. regulatory barrier to the marketing of meat and milk from cloned cattle, pigs and goats.

Nebraska issues import order on cattle[Dec. 28, 2007] The Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) today issued an
import order to help protect the health of Nebraska's livestock as a result
of Trichomoniasis infections in surrounding states. The order will take
effect on Tuesday, January 1, 2008.

PBR announces new draft system for three-day Built Ford Tough Series events[Dec. 11, 2007] PBR announces a new draft system that will allow bull riders to choose their bulls at three-day Built Ford Tough Series events. The new format kicks off on January 4-6 at the VERSUS Invitational at Madison Square Garden in New York City. This will mark the first time in PBR history that a rider can choose his bull in competition.
