The ABBI bull sale at the Mandalay Bay Event Center was a huge success on Wednesday night. This was the first time in history that it was simulcast LIVE on cable television. Versus covered the event in a 2 hour primetime slot with commentators Justin McKee and Craig Hummer. There was action all over the ballroom with bids coming in by phone as well as live internet bidding thanks to both live cattle auction.com and versusabbi.com. Along with all that there was also on hand bidding happening at the same time. All in all the sale went off without a hitch and both the PBR and the ABBI were very happy with the outcome. One interesting point is all the fans and bidders that called the telephone number displayed on versus talked directly to a PBR World Finals contestant as they all were taking turns manning the phone lines for the entire event. The high dollar bull of the night was sold by Mitch Terrell and sold for an astounding $37,000. The total sale dollar amount for the event came in at an extraordinary $662,850 with 82 lots being sold. The average sale for the night ended up being $7,986 per lot. The ABBI had 45 consignees joining forces for one of the best sales at the finals to date. One of rodeo attitude’s members, Cross Lazy S Bucking Bulls owned by Bryan Smith sold the bull named Vortex for $15,000. Just as it was hot and humid outside in the city of lights the entire two and a half hours of action was hot inside as well. During the event J.W. Kinder and I had the chance to sit down and talk to PBR Bullrider Colby Yates and discuss everything from riding bulls to his up and coming music career. I know many Rodeo Attitude members have been trying to find out how to get their hands on Colby’s music and we have the answer for you directly from the man himself. Colby says after the finals are done and he is back home he is going to be getting all of his music licensed so fans all over the world can start purchasing his album. He wanted to assure all of his fans that within the very near future you will be able to find his album for sale. Rodeo Attitude will follow this news very closely and stay tuned as Colby has shown interest in linking to Rodeo Attitude to allow easier purchasing for our members.
