Good rides, not long rides at rodeo
[Dec. 27, 2007] The cowboys were there for a good ride, not a long ride at the Waimate Rodeo yesterday.
 
Clown puts body on line for rider
[Oct. 22, 2007] The growing popularity of bull riding world wde has brought several from Hawaii to tour New Zealand but one is grateful to a New Zealand bullfighter today - A rodeo clown says it was second nature to throw himself on top of an injured contestant to protect him from a rampaging bull.
 
Hawaiians showing how it's done
[Oct. 18, 2007] All the way from Waimanalo, on the island of O’ahu a posse of Hawaiian cowboys sashayed into Methven this week, set to show ’em how it’s done at Sunday’s rodeo.
Seven bull riders and ropers checked out the chuon Tuesday, but by tomorrow their numbers will have grown as the rest of the 15-strong contingent turn up for the show.

[Aug. 20, 2007] THE days of building swimming pools appear to be over for Australia-based Gisborne cowboy Fraser Babbington. The 20-year-old is competing full-time in Australia before heading to the United States after being offered three scholarships.
