PUEBLO, Colo. (July 21, 2008) - The world’s preeminent bull riding organization, the Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR), will buck into Edmonton, Alberta, Canada’s Rexall Place for the Montana Tractors Invitational on July 25 and July 26 at 7 p.m. nightly. The event marks the debut of the elite Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) presented by Wrangler in Edmonton. For two nights, the toughest men on dirt will battle the fiercest bovine athletes in the world in a bull riding competition unlike any the Canadian fans have ever seen.
On Thursday, fans will see top Canadian riders in the PBR Rocky Cup presented by Dickies —the Top 35 bull riders from the PBR Canadian standings along with 10 bull riders from the BFTS World Standings. The event’s Top 10 contestants will each ride one more bull in a final and decisive championship round.
The winner of Thursday’s competition will earn the final spot at the Montana Tractors Invitational on Friday and Saturday. This event winner along with Beau Hill (West Glacier, Mont.), the event winner from the PBR Rocky Cup presented by Dickies Events in Montreal (June 28) and Aaron Roy (Asquith, SK, Canada), the number one bull rider in the PBR Canada Rocky Cup presented by Dickies standings, will join the Top 45 bull riders in the world to face the best bovine athletes in North America. Saturday fans will be treated to a bonus round when the top 15 scoring athletes will return in the Built Ford Tough Championship Round to determine the event champion. The man with the highest total score on 3 bulls will be the winner.
For as little as $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for children, fans will see two and a half hours of full-throttle action - PBR style - with the world’s top bull riding athletes facing off against the toughest bulls on the planet. Tickets are available via all Ticketmaster outlets, Ticketmaster.ca, and the Rexall Place box office.
Topping the list of competitors at the Montana Tractors Invitational is the PBR’s current number one man Guilherme March (Leme, SP, Brazil), 2008 Calgary Stampede Winner & 2004 PBR World Champion Mike Lee (Decatur, Texas), two-time PBR World Justin McBride (Elk City, OK) (2005 and 2007), and 2007 PBR World Finals Event Winner Wiley Petersen (Fort Hall, Idaho.)
