The 33rd annual Canadian Finals Rodeo’s list of contestants is starting to sort itself out as the second- and third-last rodeos of the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association’s 2006 regular season schedule took place this past weekend, with stops in McCord, Sask. and Hanna, Alta.
Three-time CFR tie-down aggregate champion Steve Lloyd (Alix, Alta.) roped up $1,339 at the two rodeos, winning the Hanna Pro Rodeo with his 7.2-second run, worth $1,007. Lloyd picked up another $262 in McCord, after his fourth place finish there.
It was enough to move him from 13th place in the Canadian standings (known as the ‘crying hole’) and into the 12th and final CFR spot.
But, things aren’t over yet as Mark Nugent (Water Valley, Alta.) and Travis Gallais (Olds, Alta.) can still catch him this coming weekend in Saskatoon. |
