I invite you all to take a year-long journey and meet twelve women who have held the title of Miss Rodeo Canada. For each of us, this has been a wonderful experience, a chance to meet fellow alumni members and to relive our year as Miss Rodeo Canada.
Our program started in 1955 with the crowning of the first Miss Rodeo Canada. Today, Miss Rodeo Canada will participate in approximately 120 rodeo performances and complete 550 personal appearances during her busy reign. It is an experience of a lifetime, a wonderful opportunity for personal growth and the chance to represent the sport we all love so much.
In 2004, Miss Rodeo Canada became a spokesperson for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. We utilize our position within the rodeo and western industries to help raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.
We are all affected by breast cancer. In 2006, 22,000 women and 160 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer. The good news is that thanks to earlier detection and improved treatments, the breast cancer mortality rate is at its lowest since 1960.
Through the sale of this calendar, we hope to assist the foundation to create a world without breast cancer. We celebrate our survivors and honor those who have left us.
Do something about breast cancer. With your support, we will find a cure.
Happy Trails!
