2008 PBR World Cup First Night Results Are In!!!
[Aug. 17, 2008] The first night of the 2008 PBR World Cup, held in the Cowboy Capitol of Mexico, Chihuahua, provided plenty of action for the packed crowd in the Manuel Bernardo Aguirre Gymnasium. Finishing in first place was Team Canada with a total score of 426.5 points; Team USA ended in second for the evening with 353.5 points; 2007 World Cup Champions, Team Brazil, in third with 340.25 points; home country bull riders, Team Mexico, finished in fourth with 244.25 points; and rounding out fifth was Team Australia with 88.25 points. Canadian Rodeo community mourns death of two Alta. chuckwagon veterans
[Aug. 6, 2008] Herman Flad, 68, a veteran rodeo star and 14 of his horses were killed in a head-on collision in western Canada, police said Wednesday.
 
AUSTRALIAN country music veteran Reg Lindsay has died, aged 79.
[Aug. 5, 2008] He died in a Newcastle hospital yesterday afternoon after a battle with pneumonia, according to his family. Lindsay won three Golden Guitars and wrote more than 500 songs during his career that also included two long-running television shows – The Reg Lindsay Country Hour and Reg Lindsay Country Homestead.

Police rodeo, bash for missing kids
[Jul. 30, 2008] The Missing Children Society of Canada and the Calgary Police are once again teaming up for the 26th Annual Calgary Police Rodeo and Airdrie Bull Bash.
The Calgary Police Rodeo, the only police rodeo in the world, is an amateur competition held annually at the Airdrie Professional Rodeo grounds. Contestants come from Canada and the United states and include police officers and others employed in law enforcement. Proceeds from the rodeo go to support the Missing Children Society of Canada’s search program, Project: Reunite.

Rocky Cup presented by Dickies Results Are In
[Jul. 24, 2008] The Rocky Cup presented by Dickies wrapped up tonight from Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Bull riding fans north of the border were thrilled with outstanding rides and harrowing wrecks. The event featured 45 contestants from the Canadian Rocky Cup presented by Dickies standings and the Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS). Travis Briscoe (Edgewood, N.M.) returned to his winning ways and claimed the event title and added $6,737 to his PBR earnings.
