The 34th Annual Canadian Finals Rodeo Kicks off in Edmonton
[Nov. 8, 2007] The first performance of the 2007 Canadian Finals Rodeo busted out of the chutes in Edmonton, Alberta this evening in front of 12,665 energized and enthusiastic rodeo fans at Rexall Place. Total prize money of $1.158 million dollars up is up for grabs.
 
Season turnaround launches bull rider Denton Edge into Canadian Finals Rodeo
[Nov. 7, 2007] Denton Edge could not stay on a bull the first three months of his rodeo season. The 26-year-old rancher from Marwayne, Alta., was regularly bucked off before the eight-second whistle and wasn't winning a dime in prize money.
 
Cowboys making a name for themselves
[Nov. 7, 2007] Besides going for psychiatric counselling, the best advice for anyone thinking of becoming a rodeo cowboy is come up with a good name. Just look at the handles for some of the cowboys who made it to the Canadian Finals Rodeo, which starts tonight at Rexall Place.

UPDATED - CPRA Year End Awards, CFR Personnel And Qualifiers
[Nov. 1, 2007] Results are now in for the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association’s Stock of the Year, Timed Event Horses of the Year and 2007 CFR Personnel. These annual awards are voted on by a variety of CPRA members, recognizing the top bucking stock and timed-event horses and rodeo committees, contract acts announcers and rodeo personnel.

Yellowbird named the rising star at music awards
[Sep. 13, 2007] Shane Yellowbird of Ponoka and Hobbema won one of the awards he wanted the most in Regina, Sept. 10. He received five Canadian Country Music Association Awards nominees, a feat that was only equaled by George Canyon, he came away with the rising star award for being one of the newest and hottest acts in the country.

Armstrong, B.C, home of the Interior Provincial Exhibition & Stampede, was host to the final stop on the 2007 Canadian Rodeo Tour last weekend. Held August 29, to September 2, the rodeo saw some of the CPRA’s top cowboys and cowgirls come out for one last chance at pre-qualifying for the Canadian Finals Rodeo through the Tour.
