Lindsay won three Golden Guitars and wrote more than 500 songs during his career that also included two long-running television shows – The Reg Lindsay Country Hour and Reg Lindsay Country Homestead.
Police rodeo, bash for missing kids[Jul. 30, 2008] The Missing Children Society of Canada and the Calgary Police are once again teaming up for the 26th Annual Calgary Police Rodeo and Airdrie Bull Bash.
The Calgary Police Rodeo, the only police rodeo in the world, is an amateur competition held annually at the Airdrie Professional Rodeo grounds. Contestants come from Canada and the United states and include police officers and others employed in law enforcement. Proceeds from the rodeo go to support the Missing Children Society of Canada’s search program, Project: Reunite.
Rocky Cup presented by Dickies Results Are In[Jul. 24, 2008] The Rocky Cup presented by Dickies wrapped up tonight from Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Bull riding fans north of the border were thrilled with outstanding rides and harrowing wrecks. The event featured 45 contestants from the Canadian Rocky Cup presented by Dickies standings and the Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS). Travis Briscoe (Edgewood, N.M.) returned to his winning ways and claimed the event title and added $6,737 to his PBR earnings.

The Professional Bull Riders debut at Edmonton's Rexall Place on July 24-26![Jul. 21, 2008] The world's preeminent bull riding organization, the Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR), will buck into Edmonton, Alberta, Canada's Rexall Place for the Montana Tractors Invitational on July 25 and July 26 at 7 p.m. nightly. The event marks the debut of the elite Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) presented by Wrangler in Edmonton. For two nights, the toughest men on dirt will battle the fiercest bovine athletes in the world in a bull riding competition unlike any the Canadian fans have ever seen. By Angela Smith, PBR
Meeting your cowboy heroes[Jul. 11, 2008] In a world where many pro athletes are paid far beyond a real, productive value, cowboys are a refreshing change.,,Like ordinary folks in North America, they struggle with mortgages, high gas prices and days without a paycheque. Stellar rodeo performances in Hudsons Hope[Jun. 26, 2008] The British Columbia Rodeo Association held its Hudsons Hope Rodeo last weekend, and like most rodeos on the circuit, it was dominated by Williams Lake and area cowboys and cowgirls.
