Calgary, AB - The Canadian Rodeo Historical Society and Ranchman's Cookhouse & Dancehall have announced their new partnership in giving the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame a place to call home.
The announcement came after the Hall of Fame banquet and induction ceremonies, October 18 at the Carriage House Inn at Calgary, Alta. Ranchman’s owner Harris Dvorkin has committed to providing the Hall of Fame with at least 4000 square feet at his McLeod Trail property, which will house rodeo memorabilia and artifacts honouring the almost 150 current inductees.
The Hall of Fame will be an addition to the Ranchman’s building. Dvorkin and Hall of Fame President Lester Gurnett hope for construction to start soon. More than 400 people were on hand for the announcement including Federal Minister of Tourism, Diane Ablonczy, Calgary MLA, Len Webber, this year's Hall of Fame inductees and many of rodeo's sponsors, supporters and past inductees. Currently, the Hall of Fame does not have a permanent display. |
