Page 4 of 7 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 2008 PBR World Cup First Night Results Are In!!![Aug. 17, 2008] The first night of the 2008 PBR World Cup, held in the Cowboy Capitol of Mexico, Chihuahua, provided plenty of action for the packed crowd in the Manuel Bernardo Aguirre Gymnasium. Finishing in first place was Team Canada with a total score of 426.5 points; Team USA ended in second for the evening with 353.5 points; 2007 World Cup Champions, Team Brazil, in third with 340.25 points; home country bull riders, Team Mexico, finished in fourth with 244.25 points; and rounding out fifth was Team Australia with 88.25 points. PBR Unveils Innovative and Evolutionary Uniforms for the 2008 PBR World Cup[Aug. 15, 2008] For the first time ever, bull riders will set aside their traditional button-down western shirts and chaps for the more contemporary and custom made jerseys and chaps. Australian Country music legend Smoky Dawson dies[Feb. 14, 2008] The music community is mourning the death of the last of Australia's original country music pioneers, Smoky Dawson, who has died aged 94. The legendary singer died in Sydney shortly after 5pm (AEDT) on January 13 of complications from surgery, a spokeswoman for the Australian Country Music Foundation said.

Australian Rodeo champion dies after bull riding accident[Nov. 20, 2007] Australia rodeo fans lost their All-around National Champion Cowboy, Greg Meech. Greg, 33, from Caboolture, died in Ipswich Hospital from internal bleeding on Saturday night after he was thrown off a bull and stomped on at the Ipswich Rodeo in south-east Queensland, Australia.
The bull supplier[Oct. 30, 2007] With a string of outstanding bulls to his credit, the name Hempenstall is quickly associated with legendary Brahman "Chainsaw". Universally regarded as the greatest Rodeo Bull of all time, Chainsaw was a direct product of the Hempenstall Brothers, George and Richard.
Edna Zigenbine Dies[Sep. 25, 2007] She was a legend in the cattle industry in her homeland of Australia and around the world. Her legend will live long in the tales of great writers - she was the ultimate "cattleman".
