[Feb. 14, 2008] The music community is mourning the death of the last of Australia's original country music pioneers, Smoky Dawson, who has died aged 94. The legendary singer died in Sydney shortly after 5pm (AEDT) on January 13 of complications from surgery, a spokeswoman for the Australian Country Music Foundation said.

Australian Rodeo champion dies after bull riding accident
[Nov. 20, 2007] Australia rodeo fans lost their All-around National Champion Cowboy, Greg Meech. Greg, 33, from Caboolture, died in Ipswich Hospital from internal bleeding on Saturday night after he was thrown off a bull and stomped on at the Ipswich Rodeo in south-east Queensland, Australia.
