Australian Country music legend Smoky Dawson dies[Feb. 14, 2008] The music community is mourning the death of the last of Australia's original country music pioneers, Smoky Dawson, who has died aged 94. The legendary singer died in Sydney shortly after 5pm (AEDT) on January 13 of complications from surgery, a spokeswoman for the Australian Country Music Foundation said.
