The Missouri State Fair, Sedalia, MO will host the 13th Annual Dodge Championship Bullriding in the Dodge Arena on August 15th and 16th. The action will be provided by the Extreme Bullriding Tour presented by RodeoAttitude.com. The tour is produced by White Buffalo Productions owned by Todd and Tammy Crase, Winterset, IA and Ryan Skillett, Lincoln, NE. Todd and Tammy made Missouri their home for many years and Tammy is originally from Missouri so to them this is “coming home” and as with anyone they want to give the “hometown” audience a show they won’t forget.

The first step in putting together an unforgettable bullriding is to lure the top riders to compete and there will be no shortage of talent here. The competition is sanctioned by both the National Federation of Professional Bullriders (NFPB) and the Bullriders of America (BOA) and the top riders for both associations are scheduled to appear. In all over 50 riders will compete over the two day period. Highlighting the Friday night line up will be Dustin Hall, Miller, MO, multi-time qualifier for the PBR World Finals will be among the competitors. Craig Sasse, St Peter, IL, who has also qualified for the PBR World Finals and is currently in the top 5 in the NFPB is scheduled to ride. If having those two riders isn’t exciting enough Justin Carlton, Trenton, TN, who has won several Year-End Championships will be competing both nights. The lineup on Friday night will also include Sedalia’s own Derrick Roberts. Saturday nights lineup reads like a whose-who list in Midwest bullriding. Joining Justin Carlton on the roster will be Andy Smith, New Castle, NE, the reigning BOA Champion; Jimmy Twedt, Ellsworth, IA, the reigning 2X Extreme Bullriding Tour Champion and current reserve champion of the BOA; Ty Redman, Van Wert, IA, 2008 BOA Rookie of the Year and currently in the top 5 on the tour; other notable riders include John Susie, Correctionville, IA, Henry Yoder, Garnett, KS, and Seth Reynolds, Willow Springs, MO.

The riders are only half of the equation in a good ride. Providing the bull power for the second half will be BOA Stock Contractor of the Year, Double S Bull Company owned by Shad and Vicki Smith, Sidney, Iowa and award-winning NFPB stock contractors, Clint Jackson and Frank Walkowe. Everyone that knows bull riding has heard of professional bull rider, Matt Bohon, but how many know that Matt and his dad, Everett Bohon, also raise bulls. The final bunch of bulls will be coming from Matt and Everett and when you see them buck you will know that the same attention to details that makes Matt a champion is visible in the Bohon bulls. Needless to say with award winning bulls like this the match-ups will be top rated. It has also been announced that on Saturday night there will be a special B & W Turn-over Hitch Bounty Bull competition giving one rider a chance to bring home a big bonus check if he is able to last to the 8-second buzzer on the designated bull.

The production team that has been assembled is filled with award winning talent. Starting out the list is Sedalia’s own Chris Pyle. Chris has won so many Announcer of the Year awards it is hard to keep track of them. Chris will be joined in the arena by funnyman, Dusty Meyers. This will be Dusty’s first trip to the Missouri State Fair as funnyman bringing with him a wealth of new material for everyone. As an added attraction trick rider, Tina Bates, will be providing a break from the bull riding during each performance.

Although the bull riders and bulls get the spotlight , the men who put their lives on the line each and every time the chute gate opens are the bullfighters. The men selected to provide cowboy protection will be award winning bullfighters, Chris Lewis and Andy Thompson. Helping them in the arena with encouraging the bull to leave the arena will be well-known bull wrangler, Runt Regath. The men entrusted with scoring the event will be arena judges Mike Gillum and Tim Early,

There will be a special autograph session August 16th from 11 AM to 1 PM at Gene’s Boots and Hats in Sedalia. Come and meet riders, bullfighters and other members of the production company.

Come to the fair and stay for the bull riding – What a day!
