After reclaiming his spot atop the all-round standings last week, five-time and reigning World Champion All-Around Cowboy Trevor Brazile continued to put the pedal to the metal last weekend, winning both the all-around and tie-down roping titles at the Redding (Calif.) Rodeo.

Brazile, of Decatur, Texas, earned $5,758 in northern California, extending his advantage in the all-around race to $8,155 over Josh Peek of Pueblo, Colo., as the rodeo season prepares to launch into the lucrative summer season.

In tie-down roping, Brazile placed in both rounds – tied for fifth in the first round and tied for sixth in the second – in recording a combined time of 18.5 seconds that was good for the average title and $3,088. Brazile also joined forces with Patrick Smith in team roping, finishing third in the average and earning an additional $2,670.

Bareback rider Jessy Davis continued his solid season that has the Payson, Utah, cowboy ranked third in the Crusher Rentals PRCA World Standings. One week after taking top honors at the Mother Lode Round-Up in Sonora, Calif., Davis claimed the title in Redding after riding Four Star Rodeo Company’s Star Wars for 83 points and a check worth $5,087.

Perhaps no one traveled farther than bull rider Matt Clemons, who made his trip from Okeechobee, Fla., worth it. He pocketed $5,786 for his 90-point ride aboard Growney Brothers Rodeo’s No. 423.

Team ropers Jake Stanley and Cody Cowden snagged the two-head average title. Stanley, of Hermiston, Ore., and Cowden, of Merced, Calif., recorded a total time of 10.4 seconds, edging Colter Todd and Cesar de la Cruz, who came in at 10.5. Stanley and Cowden also earned a share of the title at the Rowell Ranch Rodeo in Hayward, Calif.

Californians took top honors in steer wrestling as Stan Branco of Chowchilla earned $3,385 after turfing two steers in 9.5 seconds, and saddle bronc riding after Scott Miller of Hemet turned in an 82-point score on Western Rodeo’s Crooked Creek that paid $5,167.
