With the oil boom, West Texas is already crowded, but they say, that hasn't deterred people from coming out this year.
Etbauer at top of leaderboard after fall[Jun. 25, 2008] With rodeo legend Larry Mahan sitting horseback inside the Reno Rodeo Arena Tuesday night, Billy Etbauer added another chapter to his own legend.
Etbauer, a five-time world and two-time Reno Rodeo saddle bronc champion, moved to the top of the leaderboard at the 89th Reno Rodeo with an 89-point ride on Flying Five Rodeo Company's bronc that was vintage Bronco Billy, much to the delight of the sold-out crowd of 8,129 on Family Night.
Stampede welcomes rodeo fans[Jun. 25, 2008] Despite high gas prices, officials expect a full house for the 89th Stampede Rodeo. The rodeo will be July 1-4 at the Stampede Grounds.
Rodeo season starts this weekend[Jun. 24, 2008] Fans - or people who wonder if they might be fans - can see the state’s top high school competitors this week, the top professionals in the sport a week later - and the following week it's kids from about 8 up through high school. It may be the most intense three weeks of rodeo at all levels found anywhere.
Nebraska - Lowe notches Buffalo Bill Rodeo win[Jun. 22, 2008] Three-time world champion Will Lowe was the best of the bareback riders at the Nebraskaland Days Buffalo Bill Rodeo.
Lowe scored an 86 Thursday night, two points better than Bo Casper of Ft. Scott, Kan.
Cooper twins skyrocket to the top of the leaderboard at Reno Rodeo[Jun. 22, 2008] The Cooper twins made their first appearance at the “big dance” known as the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo last year and with team roping runs like they turned in on Saturday night at the Reno Rodeo, they will be back there this December. Bello rides Hill Top to lead the 89th annual Reno Rodeo on opening night[Jun. 21, 2008] Australian turned Utah cowboy Anthony Bello had a great opening night at the 89th annual Reno Rodeo riding Rosser Rodeo's Hill Top for 86 points. Bello, who currently resides in Oakley and won the 2007 Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo, edged Justin Arnold of Santa Margarita, Calif., by one point to take the early lead in the saddle bronc riding. Arnold posted an 85 on Flying U Rodeo’s Sam’s Town. Both cowboys will be back on Saturday night during the second performance of the Reno Rodeo for their second round horse and they hope to at least equal or improve on their first round score to secure their spot in the final round on June 28. Second go gets started at state rodeo finals[Jun. 13, 2008] Thursday's opening two perfomances of the second go of the Idaho High School Rodeo Finals are in the books at the Bannock County Fairgrounds in Pocatello, and the strong performances of several locals put them into contention.
Green Hills Women Shelter Benefit Bull Riding - Trenton, MO[Jun. 1, 2008] Green Hills Women Shelter Benefit Bull Riding was held May 31st in Trenton, MO at the Saddle Club Arena and success doesn't even start to cover the results of the night. Every bleacher seat was full with many people left to standing room only. The list of riders was unbelievable which read almost like a whose who of both the National Federation of Professional Bullriders (NFPB) and the Bullriders Of America (BOA). Ridin', ropin' in rain[May 26, 2008] Rain during the second half of Sunday's 75th annual Marysville Stampede didn't dampen the spirits of several hundred fans who stayed and were treated to the only two full 8-second rides in the bull riding competition.
