113th Cheyenne Frontier Days kicks off with annual cattle drive[Jul. 21, 2009] With the first of 500 Corriente steers cresting the hill north of Cheyenne, Wyo., the 113th Cheyenne Frontier Days was officially underway. In this annual event, Committee Chairmen, Dandies, wranglers, volunteers, guests, and family gather for a chuck wagon breakfast and some socializing before driving the cattle to the rodeo pens at Frontier Park. Cannon Falls Fourth of July Bullriding Rocks[Jul. 6, 2009] Cannon Valley Fair in Cannon Falls, Minnesota celebrated its 6th Annual Extreme Bullriding Tour stop with as many "fireworks" in the arena as in the sky! Despite the off and on rains throughout the day the sky cleared for the bull riding action. The crowd really got its moneys worth in the Rodeo Attitude Short Go when the top bulls of the Double S Bull Company, owned by Shad and Vicki Smith of Sidney, IA, did their best to buck off the top 6 riders of the night. Old, new faces pepper rodeo's historic parade in 65th year[Jul. 2, 2009] Sure he didn't suffer the injury while completing a heroic deed, but at least the large bruise on his right breast was a good story to share minutes before the Rodeo of the Ozarks parade Wednesday, which kicked off festivities of the 65th annual rodeo.
Scotia Homecoming Marks 10 Years of Extreme Bull Riding Success...[Jun. 22, 2009] For the 10th year the Extreme Bullriding Tour made its annual stop in Scotia, NE as a part of their annual celebration Scotia Homecoming. Swanson earns Studley Award[Jun. 20, 2009] Mardee Swanson had a good reason for being in the Wild West Arena during Thursday's performance of the Buffalo Bill Rodeo. She was riding with the Velvet Spurs, who provide a mounted drill team demonstration prior to the rodeo.
99 Years of Rodeo at the California Rodeo Salinas[Jun. 16, 2009] The California Rodeo Salinas celebrates 99 years of rodeo July 16th, 17th, 18th, & 19th. The action starts Wednesday, July 15th, when the PBR U.S Smokeless Challenger Tour bucks into town.
Trenton, Misssouri Roaring Success For Everyone[Jun. 2, 2009] Green Hills Women Shelter Annual Benefit Bull Riding Trenton, MO was once again a great success. The stands were full with fans enjoying top-notched bull riding while raising funds for a very worthy cause. Riders from the Bullriders Of America provided the talent while Double S Bull Company, Sidney, IA provided the bulls. In one round of competition followed by a short round of rank bulls it was Ty Redman who took home the championship. Ty scored 169 points on two bulls for a nice check of $928.13. Newberry puts on a show in his hometown[May 30, 2009] ADA, Okla. – Jody Newberry is an Ada boy at heart.
On Friday night during the first performance of the Cord McCoy Invitational presented by Cooper Tires, Newberry lit the Pontotoc County Agri-Plex ablaze with two strong rides and now carries the lead into tonight’s second performance after scoring 172 points on two rides. By Ted Harbin
Redding Rodeo winds up with big payouts[May 17, 2009] Blake Knowles and Corey Navarre both came into Redding, needing to change their fortunes for the 2009 pro rodeo seasons.
They got their change on the final night of the 61st annual Redding Rodeo.
Beaver Springs: Cowboy up ... and down[May 17, 2009] BEAVER SPRINGS — Rodeo is a tough sport. Just ask Cody Rice or Kesley Pontius. They were two competitors who tumbled off their rides in the Saturday night rodeo at the Beaver Springs Fairgrounds.
No. 2 trumps No. 1 in bareback event[May 8, 2009] The second night of bareback riding saw a battle between the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association's top two riders, with No. 2 besting No. 1.
Second-ranked Heath Ford's Thursday night bareback effort received a score of 81 to become the rodeo leader after two nights. That topped Tim Shirley's 78-point ride Wednesday night. Other bareback rides Thursday included a score of 79 by Steven Anding and scores of 77 by Snyder's Jared Smith and top-ranked bareback rider Clint Cannon, of Waller, Texas.
