Taylor County Fair, Bedford, Iowa, has a problem that most fairs would love to have.  Their Extreme Bullriding Tour event consistently draws more people than they have room for.  Not a bad problem to have.  For the third consecutive event this week the Extreme Bullriding Tour drew over capacity crowds to the venues hosting their tours.

Once again this stop on the tour was highlighted with outstanding rides by many of the top bull riders in the Midwest.  John Susie displayed the talent that has him high in the standings in both sanctioning bodies, Bullriders of America (BOA) and National Federation of Bullriders (NFPB) winning the event with an 86 point ride for a take-home pay of $1205.82.  Bull of the event was 451 Gambler who bucked off champion bull rider, Steven Lile.

An added attraction to the nights activities was a Midwest Bullfighters freestyle bullfighting competition.  Trent Oschner toped the four man competition with a score of 81.  Bullfighters who make their living protecting the riders in the arena show their skills one on one against the bull when the only life at risk is their own leaving the crowds breathless with a mixture of excitement, anticipation and fear.

Other highlights of the night were the Extreme Bullriding's tribute to the military.  This part of the program has been a standard for several years but takes on deeper meaning this year as Dakota Crase, a regular on the tour as a member of the production team is currently serving in Iraq.  Also making the night a total success were announcer, Brandon McLagan and funnyman Lance Mclvain.  Mark Keaton of Mark Keaton and Ace's High sang both the National Anthem and the for the tribute.  Also on hand as special guest was Rachel Burton, Miss Tean Rodeo Iowa.  Rachel not only signed autographs but helped with the 50/50 drawing for the Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign to fight breast cancer.

As everyone headed home after a rousing night of bullriding the fans and contestants were all happy with the results of the night.  See you all next year!
