Twoj Styl (Your Style) the leading women’s magazine in Poland recently published a four-page article profiling several the women involved in American rodeo and bull riding. Among the athletes and personalities included in the story and photos were Kaila Mussell, the only woman bronc rider in the PRCA, two time NFR barrel racing contestant, Tana Poppino, California woman bull rider Jamie Walker and popular rodeo television personality Pam Minick. The story appeared in the magazine’s May edition
Earlier this year, Iza Stachurska, the magazine’s New York-based reporter contacted Mike Donnell, owner of Donnell Rodeo Promotions in Pueblo, Colorado to ask for assistance in identifying women to be included in the story and help in arranging interviews and photos.
“Iza told me that the magazine was doing a series on women from around the world who were involved in activities that would be exciting but unfamiliar to its readers,” Donnell said. “She decided women in American rodeo fit the bill. She wanted to interview women from different facets of the sport but wanted women who had interesting personal stories outside the arena,” said Donnell. “Clearly Kaila, Tana, Jamie and Pam met those qualifications.”
With a circulation of 600,000, Twoj Styl is the equal of similar women’s publications in the U.S. with its coverage of fashion, lifestyle and extravagant use of color photography.
“We have asked the editor for any feedback she might receive on the story, Donnell added. “Who know, maybe some readers will decide to visit a rodeo or bull riding event when they visit the U.S.”
