Last fall the Bullying Hurts Program hired former rodeo clown, George Doak, honoree in numerous Rodeo Halls of Fame, to be their Director of Rodeo Relations. Since that time Doak has represented this important program which offers incentives to various club organizations and high school youth groups, in identifying bullying, its impact and long-lasting affects to children and how to work with youngsters in their community.

Doak represented the Program at the National FFA Convention held in Indianapolis, Indiana, and at the National Finals Rodeo and PRCA Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada, in December. Since then the National Senior ProRodeo Association, headed by John South, General Manager, is promoting the program. The Moses Lake, Washington, Rodeo has made a donation to purchase the Program to be introduced to their community. Both of these groups became involved due to Doak’s encouragement in the Program as well as his desire to help youngsters.

John South has talked with NSPRA members well in to their eighties that have been affected by bullying they endured during their youth. The Bullying Hurts Program, started by Starvin’ Marvin Nash, rodeo clown, and his wife, Darlene, is an anti-bullying educational community service program. Additionally it helps high school students that get involved with leadership training and personal growth.
