Rodeo Insider: Nothing random about Brazilian's winning ride
[Feb. 26, 2008] One of the Professional Bull Riders' latest moves is to allow competitors to pick some of the bulls they will ride at longer running shows on the top-tier tour. And that bucks a long-standing rodeo tradition of matching cowboys and animals by random draw. The format was used last weekend in St. Louis, and when the title was at stake in the final round, Brazilian Renato Nunes wasn't afraid to latch onto Chicken on a Chain, the PBR's top bull in 2007 whose average stay-on time is 3.5 seconds.

[Feb. 22, 2008] Two female professional rodeo athletes have been selected as cover girls for Cowgirl Living Magazine, a new western lifestyle publication for women.
 
Hand-painted mustangs part of rodeo feel in Houston
[Feb. 21, 2008] The cows came first. Then the boots had their turn. This year, mustangs will reign. By the end of this month, a herd of 28 hand-painted horses will go on display across Houston, all part of the pre-rodeo hype organized by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

[Feb. 10, 2008] After Cash Myers received a no time in the first round of tie-down roping at the Fort Worth Stock Show Rodeo, the former National Finals Rodeo qualifier from Athens was focused when he faced his second calf. Myers won the second round with a blistering time of 7.9 seconds and earned $5,686.
