Joe Ritchie Passes Away January 2nd

Rodeo Attitude member, Clay Drake, has notified us that well known rodeo clown, Joe Ritchie, passed away January 2nd at 1:30 a.m. The funeral is on Friday at 3 p.m. in Quanah Texas at the First Baptist Church.

Joe Marshall Ritchie

ELGIN -- Funeral for Joe Marshall Ritchie, 54, Elgin, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Quanah First Baptist Church with Billy Paul Ekins and Tommy Blanton officiating.

Mr. Ritchie died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at his home.

Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park under direction of Smith Funeral Home.

He was born June 15, 1952, in Quanah, Texas, to Joe Eaphern Ritchie and Eulalia Lowder Ritchie. He graduated from Quanah High School in 1970. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers. He was a Baptist and a rodeo clown.

Survivors include a daughter, Brook Oliver, Quanah; a son, Dale Ritchie, Quanah; his mother, Quanah; a sister, Vickie Hoover, Quanah; three grandchildren; a special friend, Jackie Mobley; and a niece.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Oklahoma, 1930 Ferris, Suite 5, Lawton 73502.

Freinds may call from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
