International Finals Rodeo Begins January 15th[Jan. 7, 2010] With the start of 2010 one of the first events of the year is the big International Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City, OK. Tickets for the 40th International Finals Rodeo (IFR) January 15-17 at State Fair Arena are now on sale.
Born in Oklahoma, The IFR determines the World Champions of the International Professional Rodeo Association. The Oklahoma City based association is the sports second largest rodeo association. It sanctions more than 300 rodeos in the United States and Canada. The IFR offers $350,000 in prize money and awards, making it Oklahoma’s largest professional rodeo. By Courtesy IPRA

Brazile ties record as ProRodeo crowns world champions at 51st Wrangler National Finals Rodeo[Dec. 13, 2009] LAS VEGAS -- Memo to Ty Murray: you have company. Trevor Brazile secured his seventh PRCA all-around world championship in front of 17,418 fans in Round 10 of the 51st Wrangler National Finals Rodeo to tie Murray's PRCA record for most all-around gold buckles and further etch his name in the history books as one of the greatest cowboys in the history of ProRodeo. Business trip to Las Vegas paying dividends for Tyson Durfey[Dec. 12, 2009] LAS VEGAS – With one round to go at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, Tyson Durfey is all business.
“If I can go and win some more round money tomorrow, it could turn into a $90,000 week,” Durfey said Friday night after posting a 7.8-second run to finish in a tie for fourth place in the ninth of 10 go-rounds.
The 26-year-old Colbert, Wash., cowboy has placed in six rounds at this season’s Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and has won more than $54,000 doing so. Each time he’s placed, it’s been in less than 8 seconds – he’s had three 7.8-second runs and three 7.6s. By Ted Harbin
Cannon-Mote bareback riding battle rages on in Round 8 of Wrangler National Finals Rodeo[Dec. 11, 2009] LAS VEGAS -- There were few surprises in the bareback riding in Round 8 of the 51st Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. It was no surprise that there was a tie for first place -- five of the eight rounds have ended with ties at the top -- and the cowboys who tied for the victory in front of 17,306 at the Thomas & Mack Center are the event's top two in the PRCA World Standings. Etbauer wins record 50th round in seventh performance of 51st Wrangler National Finals Rodeo[Dec. 10, 2009] LAS VEGAS -- No cowboy has performed at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo the way that five-time World Champion Saddle Bronc Rider Billy Etbauer has in his 21 appearances, and he added to his legacy in front of 17,069 fans at the Thomas & Mack Center in Round 7.
