Durfey donates to Susan G. Komen for the Cure[Jan. 24, 2008] Professional tie-down roper Tyson Durfey of Colbert, Wash presents a check for $4,000 to Carrie Glasscock with Susan G. Komen for the Cure during a gathering on Jan. 16 in Dallas. Durfey, who wore a pink shirt during all six rounds of the Canadian Finals Rodeo in November 2007 and all 10 rounds of the National Finals Rodeo in December, donated a portion of his earnings as a way to fight breast cancer.
Mote, Johnson highlight Odessa champs[Jan. 14, 2008] Bobby Mote didn't take long to start his world-title defense. Mote, of Culver, Ore., who just one month ago hoisted his second world championship gold buckle in bareback riding, earned a share of the title at the 75th SandHills Stock Show and Rodeo in Odessa, Texas.
Start your engines: Denver marks 'official' start to ’08 season[Jan. 14, 2008] Most cowboys recognize the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo in Denver as the start of the yearlong road that ends with the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo 11 months later. Rodeo prize money pays for horsepower[Dec. 20, 2007] By finishing third in steer wrestling and tie-down roping at the 49th annual Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas this month, Pueblo native Josh Peek finished the season second overall in the PRCA's standings.
