RENO, Nev. --- With just two performance left in the Reno Rodeo before
Saturday night's finals, competition is tightening up.

There are new leaders in the over-all standings in bareback riding, steer
wrestling and saddle bronc riding. A young bronc rider from North Dakota is
looking for his first pair of Reno Rodeo championship spurs. Dusty Hausauer
from Dickinson has a total of 169 points on two head. This is three points
ahead of Justin Arnold, from Santa Margarita, Calif. Chad Ferley, who won
the Reno Rodeo in 2006 en route to the saddle bronc world title has moved
into fifth place with 162 points.

The 2008 college champion bareback rider, Kaycee Feild, from Elk Ridge, Utah
leads the pack with a total of 168 points on two. That result came about due
to a successful ride on Big Bend Rodeo's Holly Time for 80 points. He also
leads the first round with his 88-point ride from Tuesday night.

Clint Cannon, from Waller, Texas, had the high marked ride of the night
Wednesday for 82 points. Cannon leads the Professional Rodeo Cowboys
Association world standings and is on a mission to win his first gold
buckle. He has never qualified for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR)
before but has been close finishing the season just outside of the top 15 on
two different occasions.

Cannon is healthy this year and even though he has already earned enough
money to assure him a spot at rodeo's championship event he is busy on the
rodeo trail. After competing here in two rounds, he left here after his ride
on Wednesday for rodeos in Pecos, Texas, and Santa Fe, N.M.

"I'm rodeoing," the affable Cannon said. "I'm healthy, I'm having fun and as
long as it stays that way, I'm not going to slow down until I have that
buckle."

B.J. Campbell from Benton, City, Wash., has one pair of trophy spurs in his
collection and just might add another. Campbell won the all-around title
here in 2006 competing in team roping and steer wrestling. He is roping here
with his older brother Bucky. They have had two solid runs that are outside
of the pay window in the rounds. Their total time of 13.0 is in the top 12
to qualify for Saturday's finals so they will anxiously be waiting to see if
they get moved out during the next two performances.

B.J. did take the lead in the steer wrestling and is placing in both
preliminary rounds. He has a total time of 8.4 seconds to top the leader
board in the over-all standings. Joey Bell, Jr., from Malakoff, Texas, is
now in second place with 9.1 seconds on two head.

The seventh performance of the rodeo will see the final set of bareback
riders and saddle bronc riders having their first round of competition. It
will also be first round for bull riders. All of the timed-events will
feature the second round. Rodeo action starts at 7 p.m.
