After thirteen performances of amazing rodeo action, new champions were crowned at the 61st Annual
National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR) on Saturday, July 25th in Farmington, New Mexico. A
total of 1,375 students from the United States, Canada, and Australia competed in this year’s NHSFR.
Performances were featured throughout the week of July 19th, with the top twenty athletes in each event
qualifying for the championship round on July 25th. Event champions and All-Around winners include:
All-Around Cowboy: AJ Fuchs - Teton Village, Wyoming
All-Around Cowgirl: Jessie Kirkes - Carlsbad, New Mexico
Bareback Riding: JR Vezain - Cowley, Wyoming
Barrel Racing: Baily Jobe - Wellborn, Florida
Breakaway Roping: Kirsten Stubbs - Clint, Texas
Bull Riding Chase Outlaw - Tilly, Arkansas
Tie-Down Roping: Jerrell Hewitt - St. Louis, Missouri
Boys Cutting: Brody Beaver - Huntsville, Texas
Girls Cutting (3-Way Tie): Kyle Lancaster - Plano, Texas
Marisa Julian - Fallon, Nevada
Jamie Lancaster - Jerome, Idaho
Goat Tying: Tyesha Oppenheimer - Redmond, U tah
Pole Bending: Angela Bartley - Emporia, Kansas
Saddle Bronc Riding: Dawson Jandreau - Kennebec, South Dakota
Steer Wrestling: Riley Duvall - Checotah, Oklahoma
Team Roping: Ryan Cook - Belen, New Mexico & Cody Jo Mirabal - Grants, New Mexico
In addition, the state of Texas took top team honors at this year’s NHSFR, with Utah, Louisiana, Montana,
and Oklahoma rounding out the top five. Chelsea Lind of Texas was also crowned the new 2009-2010

The National High School Rodeo Association is one of the fastest growing youth organizations in the nation,
with an annual membership of over 10,500 students from 41 states, five Canadian provinces and Australia.
