Spring sendoff: Redding Rodeo returns to Wrangler Tour as last event until Reno in June
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After a six-year hiatus, the Redding (Calif.) Rodeo returns to the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour, serving as the last chance for cowboys to earn Tour points until the Reno (Nev.) Rodeo kicks off the summer run on June 20.

Action in Redding, located in northern California about 215 miles north of San Francisco, starts May 15. The three-performance rodeo, which was among the cities on the 2000 summer Wrangler Tour and 2001 winter Wrangler Tour, concludes on May 17. The rodeo starts at 7:15 p.m. PT each day. Growney Brothers Rodeo Company, led by 2000 PRCA Stock Contractor of the Year John Growney, is bringing its best to Redding, which includes some of the toughest bulls in the PRCA. Additional livestock is being provided by California companies Four Star Rodeo Company and Western Rodeos.

The rodeo also features $10,000 in added money per event.
Last year, bull rider Wesley Silcox of Payson, Utah, started his run toward his first world title by sharing the title in Redding. Silcox and Zack Oakes each earned $4,343 after 85-point rides

2. Brazile reclaims top spot in all-around
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Reigning and five-time World Champion All-Around Cowboy Trevor Brazile won titles in three events at three Texas rodeos last weekend, and the $8,424 he earned vaulted the Decatur, Texas, cowboy into the top spot among all-around cowboys in this week’s Crusher Rentals PRCA World Standings.

Brazile, of Decatur, Texas, joined forces with Patrick Smith of Midland, Texas, to take the team roping competition at the YMBL Championship Rodeo in Beaumont with a time of 4.3 seconds, good for $1,554. Brazile also shared the tie-down roping title with Houston Hutto, bagging $1,772 after roping and tying his calf in 8.7 seconds.

Brazile also captured the steer roping title at the Butterfield Stage Days Rodeo in Bridgeport, placing in all three rounds and recording a total time of 29.3 seconds to earn checks worth $3,496.

In addition, Brazile claimed all-around honors at the Lone Star Stampede in Conroe, earning $1,602 while competing in tie-down roping and team roping.

Besides leading the all-around, Brazile, who won the Triple Crown in 2007, currently ranks third in steer roping, fourth in tie-down roping and 13th in team roping (heading).
