AMERICAN ROYAL HOSTS CHAMPIONSHIP RODEO


WORLD CHAMPION COWBOYS AND COWGIRLS TO BE IN KANSAS CITY



Kansas City, Mo.: (October 14, 2009) The list of entries has been set for the regional pro rodeo championship, the Prairie Circuit Finals Rodeo, which will be held October 22-24, at the American Royal in Kansas City, Mo.

 

Nearly 100 of Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma’s best cowboys and cowgirls will travel to Kemper Arena to compete for $100,000 in prize money and the title of Prairie Circuit Champion.

 

Headlining the list of contestants are the 2006 World Champion Steer Wrestler Dean Gorsuch, Gering, Nebr., and the 2006 World Champion Barrel Racer Mary Burger, Pauls Valley, Okla. Several contestants ranked in the top fifteen in Pro Rodeo’s world standings who will compete at the Finals include bareback rider D.V. Fennell, Neosho, Mo., tie-down roper Hunter Herrin, Apache, Okla., and steer wrestlers Gorsuch and Stockton Graves, Newkirk, Okla.

 

Other cowboys entering the Prairie Circuit Finals in first place bareback rider Jared Keylon, Ft. Scott, steer wrestler Gorsuch, team ropers Nick Sartain, Yukon, Okla., and Kollin VonAhn, Durant, Okla., saddle bronc rider Jesse Kirby, Dodge City, tie-down roper Hunter Herrin, Apache, Okla., barrel racer Mary Burger, Pauls Valley, Okla., and bull rider Jesse Pohlmann, Ft. Scott, Kans.

 

The Finals is the year-end championship for the 39 pro rodeos in Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma that make up the Prairie Circuit. The rodeo is October 22-23-24 and begins each night at 7:30 pm.
