
PUEBLO, Colo. (September 22, 2010) - The Professional Bull Riders Touring Pro Division will travel to Williston, N.D., on Thursday and Clemson, S.C., on Friday and Saturday.
The Prochaska Livestock presents Bucking on the Bakken TPD will be at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Raymond Family Community Center in Williston, N.D. The Clemson PBR Challenge TPD will be Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the T. Ed Garrison Arena in Pendleton, S.C. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased at The Palmetto Bank branches, at the Hendrix Student Center, at the T. Ed Garrison Arena box office, or by telephone at (843) 855-0057.
The TPD is the minor-league tour of the PBR, where both established veterans and newcomers to the professional ranks compete against some of the most famous bucking bulls. The TPD gives riders the opportunity to compete in PBR-sanctioned events while earning money to qualify for the Built Ford Tough Series, which is comprised of the Top 40 bull riders in the world. Every five events on the BFTS, riders (based on points) who have slipped below the Top 30 are dropped from the BFTS and the Top 5 riders (based on money earned) from the TPD are allowed to move into the BFTS.
The BFTS will be in Virginia for the Charlottesville Invitational brought to you locally by Troy-Bilt at 8 p.m. on Friday and at 7:50 p.m. on Saturday at John Paul Jones Arena. Tickets begin at $10 and can be purchased by telephone at (888) 575-8497.
The 2010 PBR season has been the sport’s most competitive season ever. The first 27 events of the 2010 BFTS have produced 19 different winners; the standings lead has changed 11 times; and six different riders have been ranked first. In addition, there are seven riders in the Top 10 with an event win and 13 in the Top 20.
Austin Meier of Kinta, Okla. has the most wins with five, while Renato Nunes of Buritama, Brazil, has three, and Valdiron de Oliveira of Aparecida de Goiania, Brazil, rookie Silvano Alves of Pilar, Brazil, and J.B. Mauney of Mooresville, N.C. each have two wins. Meier and Mauney have each been ranked first three different times while Nunes has been on top twice.
