Oklahoma’s Cord McCoy Takes Round One Victory in Uncasville![Oct. 17, 2008] The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) took over Uncasville, Conn., for the 2008 Mohegan Sun Invitational, the 32nd and final stop on the elite Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS). The world’s top 45 bull riders thrilled Mohegan Sun Arena’s Friday night crowd as they took on the toughest bulls in the country. Fan favorite Cord McCoy (Tupelo, Okla.) rode the bull, Road Daddy, owned by Lacey Berger/Ande Hawks, for 88 points, a $7,000 check, and the round one victory.
Challenge of Champions[Oct. 16, 2008] Longtime stock contractor John Growney has a theory about the late world champion bull rider Lane Frost..."This guy, maybe he was already an angel," Growney said this week from his home in Red Bluff, Calif. "Maybe he was sent here to write this story."
In Lincoln Bullriding is spelled EXTREME![Oct. 15, 2008] The Lancaster Event Center , Lincoln, NE initiated its new 73,000 square foot building to bullriding October 10th and 11th with the final event in the Lancaster Event Center Saddle Series. The series, which is a part of the Extreme Bullriding Tour, was sanctioned by both the National Federation of Professional Bullriders (NFPB) and the Bullriders Of America (BOA) consisted of three events. Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association News - And the winners are...first Heartland champions crowned[Oct. 12, 2008] WACO, Texas - Seven cowboys made history on Oct. 11 as inaugural Heartland ProRodeo Series champions were crowned at the Heart O' Texas Fair Complex...Dave Worsfold (bareback riding), Stran Smith (tie-down roping), Rodney Burks (steer wrestling), Kobyn Williams (saddle bronc riding), Bubba Bohac (team roping – heading), Twister Cain (team roping – heeling) and Bobby Welsh (bull riding) have forever bragging rights as the first cowboys to wear Heartland ProRodeo Series overall champion buckles in the year-long series and end-of-season championships created to support Heartland rodeos - those with prize money less than $30,000. Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association News - Heartland ProRodeo Championships lift tie-down roper to Wrangler NFR[Oct. 11, 2008] WACO, Texas - Being crowned an inaugural Heartland ProRodeo Series champion on Oct. 11 at the Heart O' Texas Fair Complex will be an honor, indeed. But some cowboys, like Texas tie-down roper Scott Kormos, got an extra perk at the nine-performance competition. With a second-place finish Friday night, Kormos' $6,816 in prize money from Waco should move him into the Top 15 in the Crusher Rentals PRCA World Standings and unofficially qualify him for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, Dec. 4-13, in Las Vegas. PBR News - Veteran Bull Rider Takes Round One Victory in Columbus![Oct. 11, 2008] The top 45 bull riders in the world bucked into Nationwide Arena for the Rocky Boots Invitational, the second of two back-to-back events in the Buckeye State. For the eleventh consecutive year, the world’s best bull riders thrilled the Columbus, Ohio crowd on the 31st stop on the elite Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS) tour. At the end of round one, PBR veteran Brian Herman (Victoria, Texas) found himself in the winner’s circle after riding the bull, The Iceman, owned by Chad Berger/Denny Hawks, for 89.5 points. PRCA Rodeo News - Key to Heartland finals is to keep advancing[Oct. 10, 2008] WACO, Texas-The storylines at the Heartland ProRodeo Championships are many and that's what makes the rodeo so much fun for contestants, fans and organizers. Add in that it is crunch time of the rodeo season and the drama unfolds. Just take the bareback riding of the challenge round held at the Heart O' Texas Fair Complex.

Field of 12 set for PRCA Heartland's challenge round[Oct. 9, 2008] WACO, Texas - The warm-up is over and the field has been thinned as the preliminary rounds of the Heartland ProRodeo Championships concluded Oct. 8 at the Heart O'Texas Fair Complex. The field of 30 in each event was cut to 12 through six rounds of preliminary action that began on Oct. 3...Cowboys begin a playoff format Oct. 9 with hopes of becoming the inaugural Heartland ProRodeo champion. Scores are erased and competition begins again as the field is then further reduced to 10 on Oct. 10 and then eight at 7 p.m. (CT) on Oct. 11, immediately followed by a final four battle for championship buckles.
