It was an exciting start to the 2009 Bullriders of America Finals at the Tri-State Arena in Fort Madison, Iowa with Travis VanLaar of Grand River, Iowa winning the first 2 rounds. This is the first time ever in BOA history that the 1st and 2nd rounds were won by the same person. In the 1st round Travis scored an impressive 88.5 points on Cory Check's CC 422 Cowboy Deluxe. In the 2nd round he returned to cover Shad Smith's, Double S Bulls, 443 Buck Cherry.
