Heart attack no laughing matter for top rodeo clown
[Jul. 8, 2009] CALGARY — Life isn't exactly a barrel of laughs for a rodeo clown and one of the most famous names in the sport came face-to-face with his own mortality just months before coming to this year's Calgary Stampede.
 
Protection bullfighters ready for the Slick Rock Challenge
[Jun. 30, 2009] Fans will get more than their money’s worth at the Edwards County Fairgrounds in Rocksprings on Friday-Saturday, July 3-4. Not only will they experience some world-class cowboys and tremendous bucking bulls in the PBR Enterprise Rent-A-Car Tour event, but they will also experience some of the greatest athletes in the sport in the Professional Bullfighters Daisy Protection Bullfight Tour competition.

[Jun. 30, 2009] The Cody Nite Rodeo hosted the Dusty Tuckness/Kanin Asay Classic on June 14th at the Stampede Grounds. The night featured a freestyle bullfight event and bull riding.

Andy Thompson Benefit Bull Riding
[Jun. 25, 2009] This coming Friday night, June 26th, 2009, the Heartland Rodeo Company will be hosting the Andy Thompson Benefit Bull Riding at the Top Rail Arena in Lake City, Iowa. Andy was injured at the National Federation of Professional Bullriders Finals in St. Joseph, Missouri on April 3rd of this year. While protecting bull rider Craig Sasse, Andy took an extremely hard hit resulting in the displacement of his C5 vertebrae which had a crack that extended down to fracture the C6 vertebrae. Doctors determined that the injury is not healing and performed surgeries in May to fix the problem. By James Dean

“Middle of Nowhere” Bull Riding and Bull Fighting School a Huge Success
[Jun. 11, 2009] The first of what many are hoping to be annual “Middle of Nowhere” Bull Riding and Bull Fighting School was held May 20-22 at the Brown County Fairgrounds in Johnstown, Nebraska. Seventeen bull riding students and six bull fighting students traveled to Johnstown from South Dakota, Wyoming, Iowa, Colorado and all over Nebraska to attend the school, which consisted of three days of instruction, both in and out of the arena. McCoy wins own event in dramatic fashion on Saturday night
[Jun. 1, 2009] ADA, Okla. – Cord McCoy was just excited to bring premier bull riding back to his home area.

On Saturday night, he painted a pretty good picture by winning the inaugural Cord McCoy Invitational presented by Cooper Tires in dramatic fashion, riding two bulls for 174 points and beating another hometown product, Jody Newberry, by two points. By Ted Harbin

[Apr. 11, 2009] ROSE HILL, Kan. – The only three-time world champion in the history of the Professional Bull Riders organization has gone from rider to teacher.

Brazilian Adriano Moraes will put on a bull riding and bullfighting school June 22, 23 and 24 at the Home of World Champions, the Bud Sankey Ranch in Rose Hill. Moraes will, as expected, focus his attention toward passing along his years of experience to all the bull riders in the class and will. He will leave the bullfighting lessons to veterans Joe Garretson and Bennie Bob Patrick. By Ted Harbin
