The California Rodeo Salinas celebrates 99 years of rodeo July 16th, 17th, 18th, & 19th. The action starts Wednesday, July 15th, when the PBR U.S Smokeless Challenger Tour bucks into town. The rodeo action begins Thursday, July 16th with the first performance of the 99th California Rodeo Salinas and will conclude with the Crown Royal Day of Champions, Sunday July 19th. Specialty act Tomas Garcilazo will appear on the track, performing legendary “La Charria” and will dazzle audiences with his skilled horsemanship and rope artistry during all four performances of the 2009 California Rodeo Salinas. Hide races, mutton busting and other local favorites will appear on the track as well throughout the four days of rodeo action. Freestyle bullfights, a crowd favorite, appear on the track daily and are sure to get the adrenaline pumping. Finale fireworks will light up the sky Thursday and Friday following the rodeo performance. Toyota Tundra brings all the “thrills and spills” of rodeo action closer to your seat with a 20 x 27 foot LED instant replay screen.

The fun doesn’t end with the rodeo; there is live music nightly in the Bull X-ing Cantina and Crown Royal Saloon, with plenty of room for dancing and socializing. Parents no need to worry about the little ones, the Kid’s Corral is open daily and free with rodeo admission and offers hours of family friendly entertainment.
