Red River Rodeo announces some changes[May 22, 2008] Texas - After a half-century of existence, the Red River Rodeo will undergo a couple of new twists this year. A later June date and the debut of Professional Bull Riding are among the alterations, the Wichita County Mounted Patrol announced Wednesday.
60th Annual Women's Professional Rodeo Association World Finals set for Nov. 18-22 in Tulsa, OK[May 5, 2008] The 2008 Women's Professional Rodeo Association will have a new home for their 2008 World Finals this year at the Expo Square in Tulsa, OK. The event, scheduled for November 18-22, will feature the best women in the rodeo business competing for world titles in team roping, breakaway roping, tie-down roping, bareback and bull riding. Barrel racing will also be featured and an event champion will be crowned but the world champion will be crowned at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, December 4-13. By Courtesy WPRA
Michaelis "monkeys" to win at Clovis Rodeo[Apr. 29, 2008] Mired in a slow start that put him No. 42 in the Crusher Rentals PRCA World Standings, Marcus Michaelis resorted to a little monkey business to possibly resurrect his season and hopes for a second consecutive Wrangler National Finals Rodeo qualification later this year. Guymon rodeo among largest[Apr. 28, 2008] This Panhandle city is home to one of Oklahoma's largest professional rodeos. It's often said more PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association) world champion cowboys compete in the Pioneer Days Rodeo than at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. Usually, at least 12 of the top 15 world rankings are timed or scored in the Guymon arena. Last year, this rodeo ranked 10th largest of all PRCA rodeos (more than 800 are held) and was the fifth largest of outdoor rodeos, according to the Pioneer Days Rodeo Web site.
