Billings, Mont. (Feb. 17, 2010) – The Stockton Oil Company Northern Rodeo Association Finals returns to Billings’ MetraPark Arena this weekend for an action-packed three days.
An all-star roster of the top 10 NRA contestants in each event will include Wrangler National Finals Rodeo qualifiers such as Shelley Murphy of Helena. They’re competing over three nights for year-end championships and shares of a purse worth $60,000.
With more than 1,200 cowboys and cowgirls competing at 42 sanctioned rodeos throughout the summer rodeo season, the NRA is one of the largest regional rodeo associations in the United States. And for the seventh year, its finals will coincide with the Northwest’s premier agricultural and home/health trade show – the Montana Agri-Trade Exposition.
The added entertainment this year includes an Indian dancing exhibition prior to the first performance and concerts after the rodeos each night on the arena floor, free of charge. Each rodeo tickets also acts as a concert ticket, allowing fans to enjoy both events from their seats. That means championship rodeo and great entertainment – all for just $10 on opening night and $15 Friday and Saturday.
All three rodeo performances begin at 7 p.m., with entertainment scheduled at 10 p.m. nightly. On Thursday night, the rodeo will be followed by the Teka Brock Band in concert, and on Friday night, the Grammy Award-winning Kentucky Headhunters will take the stage following the rodeo. On Saturday night, it’s Dustin Evans & the Good Times.
All tickets on Thursday night are just $10, and general admission tickets Friday and Saturday are $15, with half-price rates for kids all weekend. VIP, Premier and Club tickets with special seating are also available, also.
